Pike Pole Fishing Guide Service was established with a firefighter theme in mind. Although pike are one of the fish species we target, the company name “Pike Pole” actually came from a specific tool used in the fire service. This tool was also used by anglers during the early fishing industry. Owner, Adam Walton, started fishing with his grandfather Roger at a very young age. Roger, seen in the picture, was a retired career firefighter and avid angler. He was a huge influence on Adam's own career and professional angling passion.
Pike Pole Fishing is commercially insured and carries proper licensure required to guide Federal waters in Wisconsin such as Lake Koshkonong Rock River system, Lake Winnebago system, and Green Bay system. We also cover many non Federal waters, such as the Madison Chain of Lakes and other small inland lakes in South Central Wisconsin.
For open water fishing, guests will comfortably fish out of a 2021 Lund 2175 Pro V boat equipped with a 300 horsepower Mercury motor. Boat is equipped with the latest technology, including side scan Mega imaging sonar, Minn-Kota I-Link bow mount trolling motor, and GPS navigation. Fishing equipment and tackle, which is all provided, includes numerous high quality products.
For ice fishing, we use some of the best equipment available. Some of our main equipment includes: Zero 4 Outdoors aluminum drop down ice shack, several portable Eskimo ice shelters, Eskimo and ION ice augers, Humminbird sonar units, Aqua-Vu underwater cameras, and Beaver Dam/ACME Tackle products.
Captain Adam Walton is the owner of Pike Pole Fishing Guide Service. He specializes in year round multi-species fishing and enjoys taking guests out on a variety of Wisconsin waters, including the Lake Koshkonong/Rock River system that he grew up on. Other waters he guides include the Madison Chain of Lakes, Green Bay, and the Lake Winnebago system. Like many others, Adam began fishing at a young age with his father and grandfather. They taught him countless things over the years which developed a true passion for the outdoors and helped lay the foundation for his guiding career. As a father of three boys himself, passing on this love for the outdoors is something Adam hopes to continue.
Adam honorably served 6 years in the United States Navy and is a licensed United States Coast Guard Charter Captain. In addition, he is a certified State of Wisconsin Firefighter Paramedic and is up to date with American Heart Association ACLS, CPR, and First Aid training. He is also a proud memeber of the National Professional Anglers Association.
Along with guiding, another passion Adam has is sharing information related to fishing and outdoor safety. He enjoys doing this by speaking at seminars, writing articles for various outdoor media agencies, and helping out at both sponsor and charitable fishing events.
